10° Firenze Tango Festival 2012

10th anniversary of the International Tango Festival in Florence from 25 april to 1st may 2012

The Firenze Tango Festival will be a special event for tango dancers from all over the world, with a big staff of first class teachers, long milonga nights in a great location with two dance floors, tango orchestras and tango shows, classes with registration limit, search partner service for workshops, transfer to lessons, large Festival Team helping for any need and making you feel welcome – a really great and international tango party is waiting for you during wonderful spring days in one of the most magic cities in Italy.

A must for all tango dancers:....seven days for celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Firenze Tango Festival!

The tango nights will take place in two different theatres which are located in south Florence. One is the smaller and cozy teatro dell’affratellamento (entrance has to be booked) while the main tango events will take place in the Obihall Theatre (ex Saschall) a big theatre with a great acoustic and two dance floors. Even if the tango nights are attended by about thousand tangueros, you will feel a special and International atmosphere like in certain milongas of Buenos Aires. The tables around the floor are located so that “mirada” and “cabezeo” are possible and dancing to the live music of the great Sexteto Hyperion and to the muzicalizadores of the Festival will make your tango nights and unforgettable experience. The workshops will take place in different locations around the Obihall Theatre. Their will be again the talent show of non professional choreographic groups which will take place Saturday evening after the workshops and before the opening of the gran gala. During your nights at the Obihall you can alternatively dance to tango music on the big floor or to more modern tango and “non –tango” on the smaller floor. You can rest and drink or eat something at the cafeteria of the theatre or go shopping (tango shoes and tango clothing will be exposed during day and night). The workshops will mainly take place between Thursday and Sunday so that Wednesday, Monday and Tuesday you can rest during the day or have sightseeing in Florence so to be fresh for the tango nights …
